Lure Fishing - Addictive

I have always been addicted to lure Fishing. It is because the sport of Fishing with lures provides both a very interesting, exciting, challenge as well as a lovely relaxing time spent outdoors. You are always in competition with the fish even if you cannot see them.

Being in the great outdoors and enjoying the sights and sounds of the wildlife in and colse to the river and bush can help you to relax and rejuvenate your senses. Having a goal to catch some large bass can even come to be a secondary consideration (not always, as this can depend on your mood).

However, when lure Fishing for large and smallmouth bass the excitement of catching a large fish can kick your fishing addiction into overdrive. The adrenaline rush of hooking a nice sized bass will make all the waiting seem worthwhile. Bass are highly aggressive fish and will often take fishing lures that are pretty big. Smaller juveniles have been known to attack lures that are almost the same size as they are.

Largemouth bass can be found in many separate types of water such as fast and slow running rivers, large lakes. They are very clever hunters and will often hold up near any type of underwater structure that they can find. The keeping areas that these fish will favour can be a range of separate structures from large rocks, old sunken trees, weed beds to underneath boat docks and bridges. When lure fishing for bass, these spots need to be kept in mind as they can produce fish consistently.

Also remember that these fish hunt using a mixture of sight, smell and even sound. Often using a definite scent infused into the soft plastic of your fishing lure (when using plastic worms, or any soft plastic lures) can enhance your chances. Otherwise you will have success using a range of brightly coloured and drab coloured lures. Try a range of poppers, spinners, spinner baits or crank baits. Spinners work well because they create vibrations in the water that attract the fish. The key is to experiment with separate styles, sizes and colours of fishing lures to find which ones work the best.
